The Bauhaus movement has started in 1919 with the opening of the Bauhaus school. The first location where the school started to operate is Weimar (1919-1925). The second city where the school moved is Dessau(1925-1932) and the third and last city is Berlin (1932-1933).
This school was founded by Walter Gropius which was an architect and a big influencer on modern architecture. The concept for this school was to reinvent the material world, combining art and industry to bring to life new approaches about the material world that surround us.”The Bauhaus movement teaches the truth to materials as a core tenet, which means that material should be used in its most appropriate and honest form, and its nature should not be changed. For example, supportive materials such as steel should be exposed and not hidden within the interior framework of a piece of furniture.” ( Bauhausinteriors.com, 2019)
Students from worldwide were attempting to this school. Some of them are Wilhelm Lober for whom the main trademark was changeability not continuity. Gertrud Arndt, she attends for architecture but when getting into the Bauhaus notice that was no courses, her passion was photography. Lis Beyer-Volger who designed a dress tailored geometrically that end above the knees, something scandalous for that period.
One of the most relevant teachers from the school are, the Swiss painter Johannes Itten, the German-American painter Lyonel Feininger, and the German sculptor Gerhard Marcks, who along with himself becomes the full-time teaching staff of the school. The following year he adds the German painter, sculptor, and designer Oskar Schlemmer and Swiss painter Paul Klee, and in 1922, the Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky.
The school was closed in 1933 by the Nazis claiming that it was a degenerate art and probably Jewish influenced.

On this political poster, we can see the Bauhaus influences due to the diagonal type, use of the sans serif type and photography. Also, the lack of colour, using only different shades of blue and only a small line of red to call the attention on the desired part
